Emeka Anthony Ogbechie is a seasoned financial services leader with over two decades of experience spanning the United Kingdom, West Africa, and East Africa across banking, private equity, and investment management.
He most recently served as Group Chief Financial Officer of African Capital Alliance (ACA), a leading pan-African investment firm sponsoring funds and managing portfolios across Sub-Saharan Africa. In this role, he oversaw financial strategy, capital allocation, treasury management, and portfolio performance monitoring across multiple funds and operating companies within the ACA platform. He played a central role in investment structuring, capital deployment decisions, liquidity optimization, and financial oversight across the funds. During his tenure, he also held several board positions within financial services institutions, including serving as a Non-Executive Director of Union Bank of Nigeria Plc and Cornerstone Insurance Plc.
Prior to ACA, Mr. Ogbechie served as Group Finance Director at Equity Bank Kenya Limited, where he was responsible for financial strategy, capital management, performance oversight, and financial reporting across multiple banking and non-banking subsidiaries operating across East Africa. He played a significant role in capital allocation decisions, balance sheet optimization, and financial stewardship across diversified banking and financial services operations in multiple jurisdictions.
He previously served as Group Chief Financial Officer of United Capital Plc, where he led capital raising initiatives, strengthened treasury performance, and enhanced financial systems and reporting infrastructure to support growth across the Group's investment banking, asset management, stockbroking, and trustee businesses.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Ogbechie held finance and transformation roles at Credit Suisse and UBS Investment Bank in London, contributing to large-scale finance transformation programs, financial reporting infrastructure, and structured product platforms within global banking environments. He began his professional career with Deloitte in London.
Mr. Ogbechie holds an MBA from INSEAD, an MSc in Management from the London School of Economics, and is a Fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
